A polling booth officer was thrashed by BJP workers in Moradabad on Tuesday. The saffron party workers alleged, saying that “the officer was forcing voters to cast their vote in favour of Samajwadi party candidate.” Later, the security personnel intervened and rescued the polling official. On the other hand, BJP has fielded sitting MP Kunwar Sarvesh Singh. The third phase of polling is underway in Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra and scattered seats in key states such as UP, Odisha, Bihar, Bengal and Chhattisgarh.
